Flower Care

Upon receipt, remove any cellophane packaging. If your bouquet is aqua packed, hold the water bubble over the sink, snip the base and allow the water to drain out. The bubble keeps flowers hydrated during transportation but cannot sustain certain flowers for long periods.

If you choose to leave your flowers in the aqua pack, top the water up daily. If the flowers begin to flop, remove the packaging immediately and follow the steps below.

• If you wish to retain the bouquet shape, keep the binding in place. Remove it if you prefer to arrange the flowers yourself.
• Fill a clean vase three quarters full with lukewarm water and add flower food as directed. Do not use a stronger concentration than recommended.
• Cut stems at a 45 degree angle using a sharp knife or scissors, removing at least 3cm. Place flowers straight into water and never leave stems out once cut.
• If flowers are bound but you want them to spread, gently lift them in the vase, snip the binding and allow them to relax.
• Remove any leaves below the water line to prevent contamination.
• Place flowers in a cool position away from heat, drafts, direct sunlight and ripening fruit.
• Change the water every couple of days or top up daily. Re-cut stems regularly to aid water absorption.
• Remove dying flowers promptly to prolong the life of the remaining blooms.
• Take care with lilies as pollen can stain fabrics. Dab gently with tape if contact occurs.
• Keep flowers, flower food and vases out of reach of children and pets. Some flowers are poisonous.

Arrangements

Keep arrangements fresh by topping up the Oasis with water daily. Do not allow it to dry out completely or become waterlogged.

Roses

Treat roses as cut flowers above, ensuring they are placed in deep water.

• If roses flop at the neck after a few days, this is usually caused by an airlock in the stem.
• To revive, re-cut stems under deep water using sharp scissors, removing at least two inches. Leave roses in the water for around an hour until heads recover.
